Why we’re dressing up on Saturday June 25

Race for Resources is an event in the long tradition of summertime equestrian events.

You’ve heard of Royal Ascot, the Kentucky Derby, and Vancouver’s own Deighton Cup. Race for Resources is something like those events—and has a great cause attached to it.

Fashion guru Jason Sarai urges us to dress to the nines for an afternoon of sport, socializing, and standing up in support of BC’s economic foundation: the natural resource economy.

We even have below a fun quiz to test your knowledge of racecourse fashion.

Here's how Jason sees Race for Resources:

“Positive support for forestry, energy, mining and aquaculture means good-paying jobs and healthy family living.

“A natural resource job creates up to six times the value of an average job, something to keep in mind when we see pressure to say ‘no’ to major investments.

“At Race for Resources, you’ll meet other people who share a positive attitude to Canadian prosperity.

“They are supporters of Resource Works and its education campaigns in support of better understanding.

“Race for Resources is less than three weeks away. I’m supporting this effort by providing sartorial advice for men and women, and I hope to see you there looking your best!
