What federal scientists determined about the safety of this natural gas export proposal

Though natural gas from LNG is proven as the safest way to lower greenhouse gas emissions, there is a lot of competition to get it to market. Here is what federal scientists said about one project, the Pacific North West LNG proposal near Prince Rupert.

When companies seek to export natural gas from the British Columbia coast in the form of LNG, Ottawa dispatches its scientists to study what impact the proposal would have on the environment.

In this example, for the Pacific NorthWest LNG facility near Prince Rupert, almost all of the factors examined were deemed to be safe (so long as the rules are followed as required). The draft report is here. After this report was received, the federal government requested additional information, and the process of gathering that is underway now.
