Footprint of mining

Almost all the things we use in everyday life come from mining – but the land footprint is so small it is practically invisible.

post-image.jpgBetween 2009 and 2014, the mining industry in British Columbia (combined with oil & gas) invested $45 billion in infrastructure (Source: Financial and Economic Review 2015, p 74). Not bad for an activity requiring just 0.05% of provincial land area.
