Close urban-rural divide, BC residents urge industry, government

A poll for Resource Works shows that most of us support the natural resource sector, but think our positives could be sold more effectively.

Resource Works commissioned pollster Ipsos Reid to find out how British Columbians feel about the traditional driver of the provincial economy, natural resources.

And the results were stunning. Despite the headlines and broken-record talk-show hosts, most of us are actually strongly supportive of the industries that create export-producing jobs and royalties to government.

A strong majority also feel that our "green" aspirations are not incompatible with the resource economy.
