Regional Canadian, U.S. policy leaders gather to scope out economic future

Resource Works is among sixty non-governmental organizations attending the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER) 2019 summit, being held in Saskatoon July 21-25.

PNWER is a statutory public/private non-profit created to enhance the competitiveness of the region – five U.S. states and five Canadian provides and territories – in both domestic and international markets. It also seeks to promote greater regional collaboration, while achieving continued economic growth while maintaining the region’s natural environment.

Speakers and topics this year cover a broad range of policy and industry areas including the U.S.-Canada relationship, building infrastructure for future markets the region needs to serve, and how to capture Asian markets.

Attending the five-day event are provincial/territorial legislators and their federal counterparts, academics, representatives of the private sector, and various government officials.

Resource Works executive director Stewart Muir will represent the Vancouver-based not-for-profit.
